House guidelines
We want your stay to be completely relaxed and comfortable. A few simple notes to help everything run smoothly — most of it is just the realities of beautiful tropical living.
Toilet Paper in the Bin
Please place used toilet paper in the trash can next to the toilet — not down the toilet. This is standard practice throughout Costa Rica and keeps the plumbing happy.
Maximum 6 Guests
The villa comfortably accommodates up to 6 guests. Please do not exceed this number.
2 Night Minimum Stay
We require a minimum of two nights for all bookings.
Respectful of Neighbors
Punta Islita is a small, peaceful community. Please be mindful of noise levels, especially in the evenings.

Vehicle Recommended
A rental car is strongly recommended. 4WD is strongly suggested during rainy season. High clearance recommended at all other times. A small market is in the town square; larger supermarkets are in Estrada, approximately 15 minutes away.
Hosted Check-In
Check-in is 3:00 PM (early check-in may be available — ask us). Check-out is 11:00 AM (extended check-out may be available). Joe and Pao will meet you on arrival with a welcome drink and show you around.
Stock Up on Arrival
We recommend stopping at a supermarket on your way in. A small market is in the town square; larger supermarkets are in Estrada (~15 min). Use WhatsApp — it's how all local businesses and restaurants communicate.
No Smoking Indoors
No smoking anywhere on the property. No pets. The pool is an unfenced plunge pool — please supervise children at all times. Nearest hospital is in Nicoya; call 911 for emergencies.
Cooking Class with Joe & Pao
Joe and Pao offer a Costa Rican cooking class for you and your guests at a very reasonable cost. A wonderful way to connect with local culture — ask them when they meet you on arrival.
